URBAN NATURE 2

“Urban Nature 2”

I have to send a huge thanks to Taylor Helms for helping me complete this mural, as well as Marissa Reed for making this project possible.

This project is in partnership with the developer 3CDC . 3CDC asked for a design and mural to brighten up this small dog park, and add some TLC to a green space many downtown residents use daily.

With this wall being located in a small green area surrounded by all the elements of a busy city, I thought it would be an interesting concept to mix and play with the idea of urban/ architecture/ man-made, with organic/floral/ nature.

The combination of these two opposite aesthetics accents the notion of a green space within a city. The composition blends the organic qualities of flowers and nature found in a green space, with more rigid/ angular architectural elements found in an urban environment.

The final piece is meant to accent the environment it lives in, creating a dialogue between the merger of nature and man made.
