milhaus artistry mural

Milhaus Mural2.jpg

This project was executed in collaboration with Artworks of Cincinnati, as well as the Milhaus group. Mural was painted live during the ground breaking ceremony of the new Milhaus Artistry mixed-use development, located at 699 E Pete Rose Way, Cincinnati, OH

Milhaus Artistry will have apartments, commercial space, and parking spaces. At the core of the Artistry brand is its focus on incorporation of the arts. There will be gallery space, as well as multiple murals. With that being said, Milhaus thought it would be appropriate to include a touch of art in the opening ceremony. With this knowledge, I began to think of this new development as a think tank. It will be filled with creativity and energy in a new part of Cincinnati. The flowers are daffodils. Daffodils are traditionally given at the beginning of a new year. They represent a fresh start, or new beginnings, which felt appropriate for this project. Within each flower is a light bulb growing out, representing ideas and creativity. The flowers grow increasing large and more detailed from right to left, signifying that as this development grows and blooms, the creativity and energy will as well. The M in the upper right is the Milhaus logo, and the palette was inspired by the Milhaus brand.
